Saira were to be showing their new collection in Las Vegas and so wanted a lookbook to showcase their products plus a supporting postcard. Due to the narrow window between the arrival of the products and their onward travel to the show, we had a week to turnaround the project. This means we really have to pull together as a team!
As we have been working with the client so long, they fully trust us and our vision for how the shoes could be presented. We presented two avenues, but it was agreed that the direction for this shoot would be to work with mirrors. This would allow us to create sculptural shadows and ripples of summer colours, incorporating tones from Saira’s latest Spring / Summer season.
With the concept approved it was time to create visuals of how each product would be presented. We wanted to reflect the vibrant colours in the mirrors for some images whilst keeping the general set-up neutral. We wanted to ensure that the overall look complimented the more vibrant fabrics in the shoes, not compete against them.
The mirrors needed to be bespoke sizes to work with the shoes. We found a local supplier who could cut the exact requirements we wanted across 6 mirrors. We then set about using these to create a small scene for each product.
In addition to this we shot each product on a white background for use within the lookbook and on the e-comm website.
With the creative lifestyle shots taken and edited, it was time to select those to be included in the lookbook, tying them in with the product shots and text.
Whilst quite a fresh look for this season is used, it stills sits within the brand’s overarching look and feel and complements past seasons editions. Feel free the check out the 2019 Saira lookbook to see the evolution.
